Film Submission Guidlines - Bread & Roses 2008

General CriteriaInfo for All Entries

 1.  All entries must reflect the thematic concept of the exhibition. This year’s theme is “Condition Critical: Health Care in America.

2. Film genres accepted are:  Narrative Short, Documentary Short, Mockumentary Short, Animated Short, Experiemental Short, PSA, and Music Video. 

3.  All entries must be appropriate for a multi-generational audience.

4. All entries must be submitted on DVD format.

5. The DVD must be labeled with the title, running time, and contact information of the entrant (including name, address, and phone number)

6. All film makers must reside within the 7 county St. Louis Metropolitan Area.

7. All film makers will have access to a health care story bank of affected people with challenges in their access to health care or frontline health care providers by contacting Jobs with Justice

8. All Film entries must be no longer than 10 minutes and PSA’s 15, 30, or 60 seconds in length.

9. Any one artist may submit one film short.

10. All mediums will be accepted.

11.There is no application fee.

Film makers who have won will be notified

Saturday, September 27, 2008
Bread & Roses reception, works will be shown in a theater setting.

Training for beginning film makers
If you have a little experience filming or have never touch a camera before and would like to start a new hobby, we have a class that will help assist you in the art of film making. On August 2nd, we will have a training class for you to develop a film short for the Bread & Roses project. The date will be based on the amount of participates for the film class.

Receipt Confirmation
Due to the high volume of submissions, we cannot confirm receipt of submission materials by phone or email.  If you would like confirmation of submission, please include a self addressed stamped postcard with your film title on it and we will send it upon receipt or entrants can send submissions with a traceable form of shipping.
